Choose Life

Scripture:  I call Heaven and earth to record today against you. I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that both you and your seed may live.  (Deuteronomy 30:19 MKJV)

Message from the Word:  “Oh boy, God’s gonna get you for that!” How many of us have heard that before?  For some reason people believe God will hit us with disease, sickness and pain whenever we sin. This is a false view of God. Yes there are consequences for sin, but it’s not God who dishes them out. The devil is the cause and has been for thousands of years. But it’s our choice on which road we will travel. In the above scripture God warns us of what happens if we choose the wrong road. Then he says “Choose life”. How simple can that be? Yet many choose to ignore God, ignore His word, ignore His instructions and travel down the wrong road. God wants to bless you, He wants to give you abundant life, but it’s your choice. If you find that you have been walking away from God, just turn around and commit your life to Jesus. God will deliver you and free you from any bondage. Know this: No matter what you’ve done, God isn’t going to get you for it. He wants to forgive you for it. God doesn’t want to knock you down; he wants to lift you up. Trust in Jesus, and choose life!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I know that there have been times when I have chosen the wrong path. Right now, Jesus, I ask you to come into my life and forgive me. Right now I choose life, by choosing you. Thank you Lord for freeing me and for blessing me. I pray this in Jesus’ name.
