The Blood

Scripture:  You shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood in the bowl, and strike the lintel and the doorposts with the blood in the bowl. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. For Jehovah will pass through to strike the Egyptians. And when He sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.   (Exodus 12:22-23)

Message from the Word:  The Israelites were instructed to take and kill a lamb and to apply the blood of that lamb to the doors where they lived.  God told the people that the destroyer would not be allowed to enter into any home that had the blood applied to it.

We too have an enemy who comes to destroy our lives John 10:10 says “The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy”.  However, we also have the blood of the Lamb.  The blood of Jesus was shed for us, for our sins, for our healing and for our protection. However, we need to be applying that blood to our lives. The Israelites were told to apply the blood of the lamb with hyssop. We need to apply the blood with our words. We need to be continually speaking the blood of Jesus over our lives, our homes, our families and our jobs.  Yes we have an enemy, but we also have the blood.

Prayer (speak this aloud): Lord, I apply the blood of Jesus to my life today. I apply the blood to my home, my spouse, my children and my _______ (fill in the blanks). I thank you for the precious blood of the Lamb that was slain for me, and I praise you for the blood that heals, cleanses and protects, in Jesus name.
